Det meste af tiden / Most of the time

In August 2009, Aarhus Festuge, a local arts and culture festival in Leth's childhood hometown, invited Jørgen to join forces with his long time friend, Danish singer / songwriter Steffen Brandt.

The concept was simple: within 24 hours, five pairs of film directors / musicians were to create each their own short film in which the film director makes a personal interpretation of the singer's work, thus replacing a traditional script with a song.

Leth, Simpson and Toksvig at Nørrebro Teater

On October 14th-16th, Nørrebro Teater will house three intimite concerts with Danish music wizard, Mikael Simpson. The concerts include a very unique live performance by Leth, Toksvig and Simpson of the highly acclaimed album "Vi sidder bare her".

On the album, Jørgen Leth freestyles his way through such subjects as first love, the magic of dancing and his famous notebook techniques on the background of a hypnotic sound universe created by Toksvig and Simpson.

Honorary Award in Athens

On September 21th, Jørgen Leth will receive an Honorary Award from Athens International Film Festival at the Apollon Cinemax Class theater in Athens.

Engraved in the award is the inscription: "In recognition of his magnificent and multifaceted contributions to the art of filmmaking."
